The Vanilla Hearts

Along with writing, as I mentioned in my prior blog, i simply love baking too. I got my hands on this amazing recipe book my sister-in-law bought from Lahore, Pakistan. It has an amazing collection of 3 course meal recipes. i noted down some of the recipes from there and since then I am trying out these new dishes one by one.
Today after writing my blog, i figured out that i was kind of bored so I tried these Vanilla hearts and they turned out to be really good! So as per my blogging rules, I'll be sharing all that happens in my life with you guys, or may be all that I'll be able to share! :p
Plus with February nearing, Valentine's day is almost here, and this recipe can be heart-winning at this occasion!
Here's the recipe to these delicious, mouth-watering Vanilla hearts!

Ingredients:
Butter:                        150g/5 1/2 oz
Plain flour:               225g/8oz
Castor Sugar:           125g / 4 1/2 oz
Vanilla Essence:     1 tsp
Method:
1. Preheat the oven at 180°. Grease a flat cake/cookie pan.
2. Sift flour in a large bowl, add butter to it and rub with your finger tips until the mixture resembles fine bread               crumbs.
3. Stir in the castor sugar and vanilla essence and form into a firm dough. (add in some oil if need while forming           the mixture into a dough)
4. sift some flour on a clean work surface and roll the dough to a thickness of around 1 inch. Stamp out hearts with      a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
5. shift the hearts to the prepared dish and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the vanilla hearts are golden.
6. dust them with some castor sugar just before serving!

Do let me know how your Vanilla hearts turned out to be? I'll be waiting for your pictures!

Who'll Want to Read Me? My First Response to Blogging!

All that i wanted was to write. I wanted to own a blog, a website with high traffic, I knew i could write but the problem was who will read!!

Honestly, I didn't know where to start from because having no one to read meant a big time failure. And I feared failure until my husband made me realize that writing was the only thing that I really wanted to do and that it made me happy. It was when I realized that no matter if I have a lot of readers or not I will be happy to shape my thoughts into words and make them a part of the real world.

There, it was the last time I ever doubted pursuing a writing career. I know it is the best choice I've ever made in my professional life. Some blogging, some freelancing and some content writing is all to make my life a happy life. :)
My mornings started being used to plan out all that I had thought about the last night and my evening tea partner became my blog!

One thing that i really love about this journey is my husband's endless motivation and appreciation! I know I would still be in the fearing phase without his encouragement! I owe him big time.
Anyways i hope my readers if there are any would enjoy my work and there time spent on my reading my writings would be worth it! (secretly wishing to get many readers in rather lesser time! :p )

Hello world!

Hey all the lovely people out there. This is my very first post on my personal blog so i thought I’d just introduce myself. I’m Sadiqa Anum and I am a graduate in Mass Communication. I belong to Pakistan, Karachi, the city of lights, being my home town. i grew up in Middle East and now I live Pakistan.

Me as the bride!

I am married and a sit-at-home-mother of a beautiful 17 months old daughter. i love baking, cleaning, being creative with anything i can get my hands on and writing. I've worked as a translator, a content writer and an article writer. Though i loved my jobs really a lot, i couldn't love it more than motherhood.

WE <3 ...Me with my Husband

So rather than choosing between my passion and my life, that is, writing and my family,  i started writing my own blog while staying at home and giving my maximum time to the family. So I am just another S-A-H-M, looking forward to know all the wonderful people who, like her, love reading what other people’s life is really like…

My World!

That’s all from my side for the time being but you’ll be reading my blogs on and off until i don’t get in the flow and start coming up with an exciting topic daily. I’d love your feedback on my future posts, but I’ll also appreciate your ‘HIs’ on this post to let me know that you really read what i wrote! :)
Thanks and Take care!
